HOW ARE WRINKLES SMOOTHED?

Inactivation of wrinkles is a simple and safe procedure. A small amount of BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected with our smallest needle into the locations to be smoothed. Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of BOTOX® Cosmetic is used, the discomfort is minimal. For those of us who are very sensitive to "shots", we offer a topical anesthetic that one-hour after its application makes the injection virtually painless. You are able to drive and engage in all usual daily activities immediately after injections. Bruising of the skin at the injection site rarely occurs.

BOTOX®  injections have been safely and effectively used for over two decades for neurological and ophthalmological disorders. Ophthalmologists use BOTOX® to treat strabismus ("squint" or "crossed" eyes).

ARE THERE ANY SIDE EFFECTS?

Because the medication can sometimes affect a nearby muscle, transient weakness of adjacent muscles can occur. Dr. Kamin will discuss this with you. Because BOTOX® Cosmetic is completely reversible; any negative side effect is temporary.

HEADACHES / MIGRAINES:

BOTOX® injected into the muscles of the forehead that enable you to frown have been shown, in an overwhelming majority of patients, to moderate headaches. Migraine sufferers can be pain free. Treatment consists of injections monthly until a meaningful effect is found.  Subsequent injections are patient specific. You may need the injections every three months or less.
